| About Us |
Medical Memory Cards (MMC) were developed by Viki Chaudrue, RN, MSN,
for use with her own clinical nursing students. Viki started by playing
the game with handwritten index cards in her post-clinical conference
sessions. The game was so popular with students that word circulated
throughout the school, and Viki was encouraged to make the cards
available to other instructors and students.
Testimonials
After using the card game created by Viki, I was able to actively
participate in not only learning the acronyms but also retaining the
information. Thanks to this "game", now when I see an acronym, I can
automatically visualize where those cards were placed and recall the
acronym's meaning.

I found the medical memory cards an extremely useful tool for learning
medical terms. The visualization, accompanied with hands-on, helps me
learn in a way that the information becomes a permanent part of my
memory, learning instead of just memorizing terms. The game format also
makes the learning process almost effortless and fun.

"The card games really have been helpful. They not only "quizzed" us,
they also gave us those extra times seeing and saying the names;
eventually, you realize that the memorization process has happened. The
acronym cards were great because there are so many acronyms in the
medical field and to get a jump start on what many of them mean really
gave me an advantage with chart reading and conversing with resource
liasons in the field."

My group is having fun with the cards. I hadn't appreciated how it
would work as a team building event (although once I introduced prizes,
they don't seem to be as willing to help each other! For me, the
greatest plus was that it became very clear to me which students were
uncomfortable or flat out didn't know the conversions. One of my weaker
students spent all night practicing them and came today much better
prepared!
